What is an Email Client?

An Email client is a program that allows you to send and receive email.  You need an Email client to use the POP3 mail standard.

Where can I get an Email Client?

You will need to setup your POP account in an email client such as Eudora in order to send and receive Email.  To download a free email client, go to http://www.tucows.com or to http://www.eudora.com (for a free copy of Eudora Lite)   If you wish, and depending on your Internet Browser, you may be able to use a built in client that is standard with most Internet Browsers.

How do I configure my email client to work with my POP accounts?

Email POP accounts will need to be setup differently depending on which type of domain you are using with WebHostPage.  Please look under the type of domain that you are using for proper use information:

"yourdomain.com" Domains use:

SMTP/Outgoing Mail Server: Set this to your dial-up ISP's smtp/outgoing mail server.
Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
POP3 Username - use the name of the pop account

"vanity-domain.WebHostPage.com" Domains use:

SMTP/Outgoing Mail Server: Set this to your dial-up ISP's smtp/outgoing mail server.
Incoming Mail Server: vanity-domain.WebHostPage.com
POP3 Username - use the name of the pop account

How do I use the Email Client "Eudora"?

Please visit the Eudora Lite Tutorial: http://jrbnt.vuse.vanderbilt.edu/workshops/eudora.htm

What if I get an "Relaying Denied: Authenticate with POP first" error?

We have installed an anti-spam lock on our mail servers.  We did this to protect your domain from being able to send Spam Email.   To unlock the mail server, check your mail first, wait 30 seconds, and then send any email that you wish to send using your domain.  After 30 minutes, the mail server will be locked again, and you will have to check your mail again to unlock it.
